  • Book: Along for the Ride

    Delia McDonald|Mar 25, 2010

Out of all the books Sarah Dessan has wrote, there hasn’t been one that has pulled me as much as this. Dessen’s knowledge of life and love and how she puts it into words, as well as the characters she creates, are all things she carries from book to book. Auden has never failed, at anything. Guided by the forced love, and natural wisdom and intelligence of her mother, Auden was molded into the “perfect teenager”. When Auden goes to her father’s house for the summer to visit him, his new wife and their baby, she begins to change. She meets Eli,...

  • The Waiting Game

    An Anonymous Mom|Mar 25, 2010

Even though I go through a ton of more food and spend a lot more time cooking when both boys are home all day, it actually is easier to cook when both are home. Big Brother is an excellent distraction. The usually stove obsessed Little Brother isn’t clinging to my leg trying to climb up me or underfoot trying to squeeze around me. Instead following his easily annoyed brother’s every move. If Little Brother isn’t invited to play cars with his Big Brother then he’ll...

  • Third Annual Richard McLean Memorial Tournament held at Salmon River

    Sesi King|Mar 25, 2010

The 3rd Annual Richard McLean Memorial Tournament was founded in 2008 to honor Salmon River’s beloved coach, Mr. Richard “Pudgie” McLean. He started coaching the boys basketball and baseball teams in the mid 60’s and began coaching the girls basketball team in the mid 70’s until he fell ill in the late 80’s, retired in the early 90’s and suffered an untimely death soon after. He touched the lives of many student athletes by planting the seeds of desire to improve in academics as well as in sp...
