Three Nations Lacrosse League Playoffs Underway

Three Nations Senior B Lacrosse League playoffs are underway with the Snake Island Muskies playing a best-of-five series against the Caughnawaga Indians.

The Indians have claimed games one and two. The winner of the series will take on the St. Regis Braves.

In the opening game on July 27 at Massena Arena, the Indians posted a 15-4 win. The teams traded goals in the first period and were tied 2-2 after the 20 minutes. Caughnawaga shut out Snake Island in the middle stanza, and led 6-2 going into the final frame, outscored their opponents 9-2.

Akwi David led the Muskies with three goals and one assist. Justin Oakes accounted for the other goal. Skye Sunday tallied two assists and Jacob Wynn helped set up one play. Kobi Johnson covered the net.

For the Indians, Blaze Riordan led the way with four goals and four assists. Vaughan Harris scored three goals and one assist. Curry Rice scored four times. Ty Thompson tallied one goal and three assists. Karakwanoron Two Axe scored once and assisted twice. Hank Delisle and Abby Bomberry each tallied a pair of helpers. Tommy Thomas and Ben Green each scored single markers. Haneh Brant had a solo assist. Brandon Miller covered the net.

In game two, the Indians won 12-9 at Kahnawake Sports Complex on July 29. Statistics were not available.

Game three was to have been played Aug. 1 at 8 p.m. at Massena Arena. Game four, if necessary, is set for Aug. 4 at 8 p.m. at Massena Arena. Game five, if necessary, will be played at 8 p.m. Aug. 5 at Kahnawake Sports Complex.
