Full Time Permanent Position Ahkwesahsne Mohawk Board of Education Salary: MG06 $64,276.43 – $66,847.49

 


POSITION SUMMARY:

As the Academic Manager at Iohahi:io, you will lead AMBE’s Post-Secondary and Adult Education learning and student support programs to ensure a quality, culturally relevant, community and student needs based, vibrant learning environment. Your work and that of your team will have a tremendous impact and result in increased student success, new and innovative educational pathways and opportunities for community members.

In this role, you will report to the AMBE Associate Director of Post-Secondary and Adult learning. You will be accountable for and oversee program and curriculum development, day-to-day delivery of academic programs and student support services, academic planning, and management of academic faculty and staff.

• Manages academic and financial agreements.

• Collaborates with the Akwesasne Adult Education Committee and academic/community stakeholders.

• Manages the process by which faculty are selected and teaching is conducted.

• Leads the annual organizational planning and budgeting framework by creating the academic activity plan and a calendar of academic and student support activities.

• Manages academic partnerships.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• A bachelor’s degree in education OR appropriate combination of education and counseling experience.

• Five (5) years of senior administrative or education experience in First Nation and/or education and/or not-for-profit organizations.

• A professional designation in teaching or other educational field will be considered an asset.

• Excellent communication skills.

• Excellent knowledge of First Nation and Indigenous cultures, histories, and issues in education.

• A post-graduate degree will be considered an asset.

• Preference will be given to a First Nation candidate.
