North Country Honor Flight Pays Homage to Four Akwesasne Veterans

Three Akwesasne Veterans were recently honored with a trip to view the World War II Memorial and other memorials in the National Mall, Washington D.C. The escort began in Massena picking up several of their veterans and preceded to the American Legion Post 1479. From there, the veterans were escorted from the American Legion Post 1479 on Friday, May 12, 2017 at approximately 3pm and driven to Plattsburgh, N. Y. The escort included many veteran motorcycle biker clubs, family members and friends as well as several police departments from the North Country. In the morning, the three veterans, Jack Leaf, (WWII), Hubert Jock (WWII) and Ludwig Beeson (Korean War) boarded a special flight to Washington and given an 'honor tour' of the memorials of the wars they served in. Barney Rourke (WWII) respectfully declined to participate in this trip, but was present as they embarked.
