On Saturday April 15, 2017 the Kawehnoke Recreation committee put together a family oriented day of fun. The Akwesasne Soaring Eagles 12U Volleyball team also joined in to help out and to fundraise for their upcoming provincial tournament. The morning started with a delicious brunch, and everyone was welcome. The Akwesasne Soaring Eagles Volleyball team had a Cake raffle set up and they sold 50/50's throughout the day. All the children had fun hunting for Easter eggs, and winning prizes.

Once the Easter egg hunt was completed, the winners of the cake raffle were announced. They also had crafts and a movie for the children and later on, bingo. There was something for everyone to do, no matter your age. It turned out to be a beautiful day and an excellent turnout by the community. The hard work that was put into this event was definitely appreciated by everyone involved.
