The Cornwall Colts Novice team stayed with the Akwesasne Wolves for one period but then their wheels fell off.

On Monday, January 30 the two clubs met on Kawehno:ke and traded first period goals. Teiowisatenion Herne for Akwesasne, and Matt Lewis for Cornwall.

But :52 into the middle period Taeys Tasse-Benedict started a beauty end-to-end rush from behind his own net and scored for that period's only goal.

The Colts had a big chance to tie in that opening period as the Wolves swapped out goalies on the fly. Aiden Durant left the cage for Jayce-Cook Delormier as Cornwall jumped on a loose puck and streaked toward the empty net. Cook-Delormier raced to his post but the shot went wide.

Late in the period Tasse-Benedict tried again with another end-to-end rush but this time he missed.

Tasse-Benedict (2), Awenniserathe Mitchell and Fisher Smart added goals for the 5-1 win. Treven Seymour, Wade Francis and Tehohahiio Pyke-Rowe added assists.
