On Saturday, April 16, 2016, the 15th Annual Robideau/Lamitie-King Juried Student Art Show Opening Reception and Awards Ceremony was held at the Wead Library in Malone, NY. The exhibit features artwork from six area schools including Brushton-Moira, Chateaugay, Malone Middle School, Franklin Academy, Holy Family, and Salmon River. Salmon River Central had 30 middle and high school artists represented.

High School Art Teacher Mrs. Jeni Backus said, "Participating in this show is one of the highlights of our school year. We want to thank Beverly Quenville, The Wead Library and the Foothills ARTSociety for all of their efforts and support in highlighting the talent of our local student artists. The arts provide an outlet for so many of our students. Opportunities like this exhibit help to show our students and community members the true importance of art education. I am honored to be a part of our art program at SRC. We have so much to celebrate!"

The juror was Susan Hoffer, an art instructor from North Country Community College. Bev Quenville, Foothills ARTSociety, said, "She [Hoffer] was impressed with art which showed a strong student voice, exhibited good craftsmanship, was ambitious, including time spent, and showed good visual development of the idea."

Award winners from Salmon River included:

Middle School Award: Mixed Media/Other - Mason White

High School Awards:

Sculpture - Niiostosera'ah Thompson "Big Mocs to Fill"
