SRMS Holds Class Olympics

The SRMS Pep Band kept everyone in the spirit at the Class Olympics.

It certainly was summer-like, with temperatures in the high 80's, on Friday, May 8th when the St. Regis Mohawk School held their Class Olympics. Students participated in two events, the bag race and the 40-yard dash. Throughout the morning classes went out and competed, divided by grade, and then at 1:30pm everyone went outside for the finals.

The Hogansburg-Akwesasne Volunteer Fire Department brought their ladder truck to the Class Olympics held at SRMS.

The Hogansburg-Akwesasne Volunteer Fire Department was on scene with their ladder truck, which they had extended to give Mr. Mitchell a birds-eye-view to videotape the event. Tribal Police were also on hand to help out, and the Pep Band played to keep everyone pumped up for the 40-yard dash finals.

After the races, to everyone's enjoyment, there was a Tug of War contest between grade 5 and SRMS staff. Though firefighters and police snuck in to help the 5th grade, the staff came out victorious. To end the Olympics, "Uptown Funk" was played and everyone danced.
