L-R: Karonienhawi Thomas, Rasennes Pembleton, Matt Rourke and Stephanie Cook.

The Saint Regis Mohawk Tribe's February Monthly Tribal Meeting began with a special presentation by Social Services Division Director Karonienhawi Thomas (left), Director of Education Stephanie Cook (right) and Tribal Chief of Police Matt Rourke to Rakwirahes Pembleton, son of Rasennes and Pamela Pembleton. The three tribal directors expressed words of appreciation and presented a kastowah to Rakwirahes for his help in reciting the Ohen:ton Karihwatehkwen (Thanksgiving Address) at the Child Safety Summit, Education Conference and other important tribal events. Rakwirahes is a student enrolled in the Kana:takon School's Skahwatsi:ra Program that is strengthening our community's foundation by installing a respect for the Kanien'keha (Mohawk) language and traditions. Niawenko:wa Rakwirahes!
