TUPPER LAKE – The Kanienkehaka Kaianerehkowa Kanonhsesne – People of the Way of the Longhouse Akwesasne Men's Council made a cultural appearance at The Wild Center in Tupper Lake (Kanienke) on Thursday November 13, 2014.

Rarahkwisere, the Wolf Clan representative, and Kanaretiio, the Bear Clan representative, presented natural resource conservation insights and life lessons to the assembled participants of the Adirondack Youth Climate Summit 2014. Over 300 students, teachers and staff packed The Wild Center auditorium to hear the presentation and the Ohenten Kariwatekwen (The Thanksgiving Before All Else).

Afterwards, the clan representatives toured the 31-acre campus and conducted a tobacco-burning ceremony in honor of the observed youth public service at the Summit and the continuing efforts of The Wild Center staff in conservation. This was the sixth year of the Youth Climate Summit to be held at the center.
