Massena gridmen lose to OFA, Potsdam

The Massena Red Raiders lost their last two matches on the football field, falling to the Ogdensburg Free Academy Blue Devils 25-8 on Friday, Oct. 17, and 42-32 to the Potsdam Sandstoners on Oct. 10.

OFA opened their match with John Rogers taking a nine-yard pass into the endzone. Jason Zembeck then put the Raiders on the board, and then darted in for a two-point conversion, giving the red squad an 8-7 lead. Before the halftime buzzer, Blue Devil Taylor Richardson grabbed a screen pass and sprinted for a 55-yard touchdown, followed by a 27-yard field goal from Jason Prudhomme, making the score 17-8 going into the third stanza.

After a stalemate third quarter, Richardson carried the ball into the endzone from 43 yards out, closing the scoreboard.

Massena's Isaiah Dillabough carried the ball 12 times for 63 yards, crossing the 1,000-yard threshold for the season. Nate Bressard pulled down a pair of interceptions.

Against Potsdam, Massena opened the game with a touchdown, but the Stoners came back and scored 30 unanswered points by halftime. Potsdam's Max Warden tossed to Logan Ford for three touchdown passes.

Massena quaterback Maddox Merry connected for three touchdown passes, two of which went to Josh Manley. Manley took six passes for 132 yards. Isaiah Dillabough rushed 106 yards.
