Verlain Elizabeth White

 

Verlain Elizabeth White peacefully returned home to her family and friends to Sky World. She was born in Syracuse, NY July 3, 1940 to Joseph M. White and Mary (Oakes) White.

She is pre-deceased by her parents Joseph and Mary; Edward (Eddie) Hogan her husband; siblings Mary Jane White and Joseph Wilson White; and a niece Mary Verlain (White) Lazore and her late son Abe Lazore.

Verlain is survived by her son Ricky J. White and wife (Karen); her grandchildren Sheena M. White and partner (Johnny) and Mark White and wife (Cheyenne); her great grandchildren Chloe Cybil and Marlee Jean White, Onyx Moon White and her chosen great grandchildren Caleb and Izzy Ellis.

She is also survived by her chosen daughter and son Marion and Edward Hogan; grandchildren Farrell (Dylan) Blew, Tristen Lowery and Rose Kania, Eddie; nieces Naomi (Martin-White) Gene Boyer; and her children Louis Martin (Victoria), and Moses White (Yvette); great niece and nephews Bella, Alexander; Bridgette (White) & Brian Lazore and their children, Nicole (Lazore) and Tom Cook and children Brian, Tomina, Sadie; Adam and Mackenzie Lazore; Jaime (Lazore) and Issac Terrance and their children Issac Jr., Sophie, Winter, Temperance; Melody (White) Point and her son Dillon Point; Victoria (White) and Michael Truax and children Nicholas Cullen; and Joseph White Jr. and his wife and children and Ronald Lazore Jr. and Destiny . Eagle Cook and companion Iawentas Nanticoke.

Mater Dei College with support from Sister Christine.   She then went through Drug and Alcohol Training Program at Potsdam.  Joseph W. White (brother) and herself both receiving their credentials in Drug & Alcohol Counseling. They both, along with Joseph Wilson White started teaching fellow councilors. They created the first Drug and Alcohol Program in Akwesasne along with the help of fellow A.A. Members Louis Jacobs.

Verlain loved all who's lives that she touched. She saw the best in everyone. Her departing words would be: Be kind to all and I love you with a big hug and kiss on the cheek. She wanted to make a difference in this world and she definitely did that, to many who she came into contact with during her time here.

Friends called at her son's Rick White's home, 374 St. Regis Road beginning Tuesday at 4:00 PM until Thursday morning when a funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM with Lisa Jock officiating.
