Dalyn Darryl Ransom "Skanatatiha"

 

Ransom, Dalyn Darryl "Skanatatiha", Wolf Clan passed away unexpectedly on Thursday August 10, 2023 at the age of 33 years young. He began his journey to the spirit world leaving behind his loving mother Donna Thompson-Ransom (Mark Powless) and father Darryl Ransom, along with his grandparents Charlotte (Point) and Richard Thompson.

Dear nephew of Darlene Thompson-Mitchell, his godmother Susie Rourke (Raymond), Richard "Eddie" Thompson (Sylvie), Nelson "Chuck" Thompson (Kimberly), Great aunt Evelyn Bebee, and Pauline (John Oliver) and his precious goddaughter Aalayah Gray and chosen bro Trey "Hawi" Gray.

His aunts,Debbie Ransom Gauthier (Larry), Barbara Montour (Barry), Delinda Comins (Donnie), and Uncles Jake Ransom, Steve Barnes (Angie), his godfather George Ransom. He will be forever sadly missed by his extended family, friends and cousins.

Dalyn was presented a honorable mention for heroism award for saving his father's life from the St Regis Mohawk School at the age of five as well as several other life saving events during his short years. Dalyn was very artistic and had many talents and enjoyed spending his time beading, detailing and modifying cars including sound system competitions, and remote control car races. He enjoyed playing lacrosse, basketball and hockey, as well as arts and crafts. Dalyn enjoyed his leisure time fishing and gardening. When he wasn't crafting he would be found relaxing with his two favorite dogs Terrel and Nikaia or socializing with his cousins and close friends. Dalyn's most common phrase heard was, " Hey Yo! "and " Onen Konnorónhkwa" always making known to say I love you and goodbye .

Predeceased by his chosen grandparents Cecilia (Ransom) and Reginald Gadway along with his infant sister, cousins Richard "Jovi" Thompson and Jaden Barnes Sharrow, his uncles Dean Ransom and Joe Barnes.

Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Lahaie & Sullivan Cornwall Funeral Homes West Branch 20 Seventh Street West (613-932-8482).

Resting was at the 392 Island Road, Akwesasne, from 1 p.m. Wednesday August 16, 2023. Traditional words of acknowledgement of the passing of Dalyn will take place at 392 Island Road Akwesasne on Friday August 18, 2023 at 11am. Interment to follow at Longhouse Cemetery on Kawehnoke.
