Job Title: Social Media Specialist/Administrative Assistant

Job Type: 40 hrs./week

Reports To: Executive Director

General Position Summary:

Seven Dancers Coalition is looking for a results-driven Social Media Specialist/Admin Assistant to plan and execute our social media strategy, develop social media content, and program all social media and distribution channels in a positive manor to increase awareness, enhance the response, identify gaps and provide training on the topics of Sexual Assault, Domestic Violence, Teen Dating Violence, Stalking and Sex Trafficking. The Social Media Specialist must be a self-starter who is able to work with such topics. This position’s home base is Akwesasne, but can reside in other areas of NYS.

Principle Duties and Responsibilities:

1. To attend all ongoing program meetings and trainings.

2. To model professional, responsible behavior at all times.

3. Increase and maintain our presence/interaction on various social media platforms (Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, and Instagram) along with updating our website.


4. Keep track and record the analytics (social media interactions ex: likes, shares, and tweets). Must provide the Executive Director with monthly status reports and develop and implement daily, weekly, campaign-driven and long-term social media content strategy and submit for approval.

5. Assist with the development of documents and reports and perform other Administrative Assistant duties such as; answering phones, typing letters, ordering supplies, and greeting community members in a friendly and outgoing manner.


6. Grow the brand’s social media audience & engagement across all channels, and create a sense of community among top contributors – engage with audience/community and respond/react to comments appropriately.

7. Computer skills, be able to develop a computer program to collect data for membership, create flyers, brochures, and PowerPoint presentations.

8. Provide assistance during trainings and presentations, accompany the Community Outreach Workers when needed.

9. To uphold the overall mission and goals of Seven Dancers Coalition and abstain from violence and the abuse of alcohol, tobacco, and other drugs.

10. To provide other support consistent with job roles assigned.

Minimum Requirements:

1. Reliable transportation, valid driver’s license, must be willing to travel.


2. Team player, with the confidence to take the lead and guide and educate other departments when necessary on social media tactics and strategies.

3. Monitor social media trends, tools, apps, and effective benchmarks for measuring the impact of social media techniques.

4. An understanding of Domestic Violence, Sexual Assault, Teen Dating Violence, Stalking and Sex Trafficking.

5. Experience with online communications and fundraising.

6. Excellent organizational skills.

7. Computer competence with Microsoft Office applications, Photoshop, and experience with website maintenance and social media platforms.

8. Experience with working with Native American communities.

9. Some evening or weekend work will be required.

Education: Associate’s degree or 5 years’ experience working with Native American communities.
