Niawen ko:wa/Thank You

We wanted to take a moment say niawen ko:wa/thank you all very much for your beautiful words of sympathy and the support and care we have received during our loss. The solace from our family, friends, leaderships, and community has meant so much to us and really has helped uplift our spirits in our time of sorrow.

We appreciate the time each of you took to pay your respects, visit with us for a while, cook food, bring food, say you are thinking of us and that you are sorry for our loss. We value each and every one of your supportive sentiments, condolences and we wanted to ensure we told all of you, Niawen ko:wa.

We wanted to ensure we shared and said, “Niawen ko:wa to the Saint Regis Mohawk Tribe.” The Tribal Programs that assisted during our difficult struggles have meant the world to us: Health Services, Planning and Infrastructure, Division of Social Services, Tribal Police, Tribal Ambulance, Tribal Vocational Rehabilitation, Family Support, Home Improvement Program, Facilities Department, Outreach and the Referral Office; and the Akwesasne Mohawk Ambulance Service, Niawen ko:wa. Without you by our side helping along the way, things would have been so much harder. John really felt the care and love of the individuals working in these programs in his last days.

We really appreciate everyone who assisted during this difficult time.

The Family of John B. Thomas
