Salmon River booters outlast the Wildcats

The last home game for the boys' varsity soccer team ended the way they hoped it would; a 4-2 win over Gouverneur(2-13,1-11). A senior game is always sweeter with a win for the fans.

Clayton Jones found the back of the Wildcat net with a shot set up by Cameron Cartier to put the Shamrocks on the scoreboard. Cartier then fired a shot past the Gouverneur goalie after finishing off a play set up by Dillon St. Ann-Spinner. Mac Lazore upped the score 3-0, late in the half, converting on a penalty kick.

Jalen Cook broke through early in the second half for Salmon River's fourth goal. The Wildcats rallied and pumped out two goals by William Foster and Ty Reed with Conner Reed assisting on both goals.

Devin Snyder stopped seven shots for the Shamrock (4-10,2-8-1) win while Curtis Knight had seven saves for Gouverneur.

Dylan Cook, the son of Darren and Francine Cook, was honored as the only senior from the varsity boys' soccer team. "Dylan has been a big asset to our boys' soccer program. He will be greatly missed" commented SR soccer coach, Ben Barkley.
