Fifth Annual Kids for Fishing

Kids for Fishing participants before they hit the water.

The event went off with beautiful warm weather, a cool breeze to cool off the fisherman, and many fish stories and memories for the kids.

The day started off last Saturday, May 30 with an informational session at the St. Regis Recreation Center. Kids were given instruction on fishing, safety and the different types of fish they would be going after.

After a hearty lunch provided by "Big E's" the children picked up a generous package, which included fishing pole, tackle box, lifejacket and lures.

Local Bass Pros volunteered their afternoon from various bass teams to which organizer PJ Burns belonged to. They split up the children and took them mainly in the area of the Hogansburg dam.
