FULL-TIME TERM POSITION (MARCH 31, 2015) DEPARTMENT OF JUSTICE

 


Salary Level: SP-07 $46,471.73 - $48,330.60

SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES:

Under the general supervision of the Director of Justice; the incumbent is to be a team player in a legislative services position responsible to develop new and/or amend and finalize Akwesasne Laws, Charters, regulations and procedures, as defined under the Justice strategic plan in conformance with the mandate from the Mohawk Council of Akwesasne. The development of laws, charters, regulations and procedures are within the regulatory jurisdiction of the Mohawk Council of Akwesasne

QUALIFICATIONS:

Post Secondary Education in the field of Law and Security Administration, Paralegal, Law Diploma or ten years work as an Aboriginal Court Worker or law drafter with two years of relevant experience working with a First Nation organization

The incumbent must possess excellent oral and written communication skills, along with excellent analytical skills. The incumbent must have experience in computer software such as Microsoft Suite. Speaking and understanding the Mohawk language is considered an asset. Must possess a valid driver’s license and willing to use personal vehicle during course of employment and must be able to travel through International Borders without issue.
