Jonathan James Diabo

 

AKWESASNE – Mr. Jonathan James Diabo, age 30, of 13 Johnson Road, unexpectedly passed away Monday, April 8, 2013 in Cornwall.

Jonathan was born April 24, 1982 in Cornwall, the son of Louie John and Nancy Jean Diabo Jacobs. He graduated from General Vanier High School on June 26, 2002 and in February 2008 he graduated from a local carpentry program.

Jonathan worked for various construction companies in Akwesasne. He enjoyed playing lacrosse with his cousins for the Central Square Redman in Central Square with the Brine Lacrosse League. He loved playing basketball, watching UFC with his Bub and brother, Louie. Jonathan enjoyed spending time with his niece and nephew, playing video games, taking walks and spending quality time with his family.

He is survived by his parents, Louie and Jean; his two daughters, Chloe Diabo-Cook and Sakyah Diabo; his loving companion, Kayla Cameron; his step grandmother, Rose Marie Jacobs of Akwesasne; his brother, Louie John Diabo and his companion, Joni Mitchell of Akwesasne; his step brother, Jeremy Jacobs and his companion, Carrie Benedict of Akwesasne; his step sister, Kelly Jacobs of Akwesasne; his beloved niece and nephew, Nevaeh and Louie Diabo, Jr; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins.

He was predeceased by his maternal grandparents, Charlotte Mary Mitchell Diabo on October 10, 1998 and Joseph R. Diabo on June 29, 1990; and his step-grandfather, Joseph H. Jacobs on January 18, 2010.

Friends may call at the family home, 13 Johnson Road, St. Regis Village, beginning 4:00 PM Wednesday until the time of the service. Funeral services will be held Friday 11:00 AM at the family home with Richard Mitchell and Eddie Gray speaking. Cremation will follow.
