# 21 Grayson Phillips is in position to score on Queensbury to help in the 2-0 Massena win.

Things started out slowly for the Red Raiders, but once they got in the groove they were able to capture a 4-1 victory over the Thousand Islands Islanders.

The Islanders were first on the scoreboard in the first period with a power play goal by Zach Watts with assists going to Sean Shepard and Kyle Delany.

Things turned around for the Raiders in the second when Ryan Moffitt converted off assists from Cameron Marsh and Tyler Young. At the 4:12 mark Brantley Adams intercepted a pass near mid-ice and took it in for an unassisted goal. At 9:22 Young widened the lead 3-1 with a power play goal assisted by Adams and Zach Robert. With only six seconds left in regulation play, Young struck again with a goal assisted by Anthony Cortese and Robert.

Conner Paquin anchored the Raider (2-2) net with 14 saves while Cole James stopped 35 shots for the Islanders.

Adams, Phillips and Paquin named to All Tournament Team

Last Friday Massena traveled to the Tom Cavanaugh Arena for the Salmon River Tournament to take on Queensbury High School and claimed a 4-1 victory.

Queensbury opened up the scoring in the first period and held onto the lead until the third when Massena exploded and scored four unanswered goals.

#19 Brantley Adams and #21 Grayson Phillips work together to stop the advancement of a Queensbury player. Adams and Phillips were named to the All  Star Tournament Team.

Tyler Young and Grayson Phillips netted a goal and two helpers while Jordan added a goal and an assist. Anthony Cortese contributed a solo goal. Massena goalie, Connor Paquin turned aside 21 shots in the winning effort.

On Saturday Massena was back in town to battle Queensbury High School in the Championship game. Massena took tourney honors with a 2-0 shutout over Queensbury.

Massena scored at the end of the first and second periods. Brantley Adams scored in the first period when he finished a play from Zach Robert.

Grayson Phillips scored with only 21 seconds left in the second when he was set up by Tyler Young and Anthony Cortese.

Connor Paquin stopped 20 shots to earn the 2-0 shutout for Massena.

Forward Tyler Young was named MVP of the tournament while defenseman Brantley Adams, forward Grayson Phillips and goalie Connor Paquin were named to the All Tournament Team.
